Greenlots! Make a Difference
October 27, Saturday 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Greenlots are urban community spaces for wildlife in which children and adults can have unstructured outdoor encounters with the natural world. Dynamically designed and implemented with significant input from youth, Greenlots are community resources that invite kids, adults, families and friends to gather for pleasure; to work together to build and sustain native habitat; and to strengthen sense of place.
Visit Tucson’s first Greenlot and contribute your energy, enthusiasm, and ideas towards projects that will establish habitat for native wildlife; improve community health; and encourage kids and adults to explore their natural surroundings.
Some equipment will be on hand to help move hardscape (rocks, soil, logs); harvest water; inventory species; and design creative signage.
Please bring your own gloves, hat, water bottle, and sunscreen.
The following Greenlots Partners will be on site to lead group projects: Ironwood Tree Experience, Tucson Audubon Society, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality; and City High School.
